sky series

i am enamored with eric cahan's sky series - photographs initially captured as sunrises or sunsets. employing dozens of graduated filters traditionally used by filmmakers, he then produces chromium prints of each image numerous times until the end result is achieved. beautiful! (i'd love to have these as a series on a huge white wall!)

i've discovered that somewhere within me (or perhaps from another life?) lies [an adorable] little japanese girl.

** exhibit a: my ongoing obsession with gocco printing:

perfect for small-format printing jobs (think stationary, invitations, etc.) - it's like screen printing without the emulsion, drying time, exposure uncertainty, or squeegee mess.

** exhibit b: my recent snobbery for super-fine rollerball pens - available only online or in japanese stationary stores:
